As part of the launch of Wall Art at Herts FullStop we ran a competition for one school to win Wall Art worth £5000. Hundreds of schools entered the competition and St Meryl School was the lucky winner!

St Meryl School is a community primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire which aims to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment to challenge learners and promotes outstanding achievement.

The brand-new library had been recently opened and staff were keen to make the library an inviting and enticing area, since the previous library was not a place where pupils could enjoy books in any way.

The design team visited the school to understand that they wanted to galvanise students to use the new library . The area was measured and the design process started. We worked closely with the school to ensure we got the design just right and were happy to adapt with any changes required.

The school found communication seamless and received regular updates.

The final result was a bespoke design adapted with characters from popular childrens books such as Paddington Bear and The Gruffalo which the students requested. The colourful fun design got children talking and aims to instill a lifetime love of reading. The Wall Art complements what is behind the wall enticing pupils to use the library because of the bright exterior.

The school is delighted with the wall art and said:

‘It has transformed the area outside our brand new library. We are so proud of our new area, and the pupils, parents and staff love it!' St Meryl School
